AI Prohibited Use Policy
Last updated: 7 February 2026
InteScene integrates generative AI features (powered by Google Gemini) to help filmmakers create character references, storyboard sketches, script analysis, and other production tools. These features are provided as creative aids and are subject to the following policy.
1. Prohibited Content
You must not use InteScene's AI features to generate, upload, or distribute content that:
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, or rights of publicity.
- Depicts real individuals without their consent, or creates deepfakes or misleading likenesses.
- Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or depicts minors in any inappropriate context.
- Promotes violence, harassment, discrimination, or hatred toward any individual or group.
- Is defamatory, fraudulent, or designed to deceive.
- Violates any applicable law or regulation.
2. Reference Images
When uploading reference images to guide AI generation, you must:
- Ensure you own or have obtained the necessary rights and permissions for all images you upload.
- Not upload images of real people without their explicit consent for AI-assisted generation.
- Not upload copyrighted artwork, photographs, or other protected material without a licence that permits such use.
3. Continuity Reference Photos (Special-Category Data)
The Continuity Tracker can send reference photos to Google Gemini to detect visual
continuity mismatches (for example, in wardrobe, props, hair, or makeup) between two
photos of the same setup. These reference photos commonly include people's faces.
Facial and other biometric imagery is treated as special-category personal
data, so this processing is handled with additional care:
- Before the first time you send continuity reference photos to AI, InteScene asks for your explicit acknowledgement and consent. You are asked only once per user.
- By acknowledging, you confirm you have the necessary rights and consent from any individuals depicted to have their images processed by a third-party AI subprocessor.
- The photos you choose to compare are transmitted to Google Gemini for that comparison and are not retained by Gemini for model training under Google's API terms. They are not stored by InteScene beyond your project's media library and the active comparison.
- Consent acknowledgements are recorded in InteScene's internal security audit log for accountability. AI-generated continuity findings are stored in your project and subject to your project's access controls.
4. Generated Content
AI-generated content is provided as-is for creative reference purposes. You are responsible for:
- Reviewing all generated content before using it in any production or public-facing material.
- Ensuring generated content does not inadvertently infringe on the rights of others.
- Complying with all applicable regulations regarding AI-generated content in your jurisdiction, including disclosure requirements.
5. Data Handling
- Reference images and prompts are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing. They are not stored by InteScene beyond the active session.
- Continuity reference photos sent for AI comparison may contain faces (special-category / biometric data) and are processed by Google Gemini only with your explicit, audited consent (see section 3 above).
- Generated images are stored in your project's media library within Supabase and are subject to your project's access controls.
6. Enforcement
Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of access to AI features or the InteScene platform. We reserve the right to review flagged content and take action as necessary.
7. Third-Party Terms
Use of AI features is also subject to Google's Generative AI Terms of Service and their Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy.
